Community College of Southern Nevada’s - High Tech Center in Summerlin, built adjacent to Palo Verde High School in The Arbors, in a $5 million model academic and computing center. This 33,000 square foot facility feature a computer interactive learning center and four computer labs with 200 computers, a student center, and a boys and girls club youth center. The center will offer an array of classes in high demand subjects with most courses transferable to University of Nevada Las Vegas and University of Nevada Reno.
To support the College’s missions in meeting the demands of growth and serving the needs of the community, as well as staying current and implementing innovations within the learning environment, the faculty has put together classes that address those specific needs. Classes are taught with a different approach, not only implementing the technology the Center has to offer, but helping the students see how one class interacts with the other making the learning experience more meaningful. To help accomplish this mission, the Center provides, PC and Mac labs, several smart classrooms, a computer interactive learning center, faculty offices and student services.
The Summerlin Center also offers a broad variety of Continuing Education courses (fee-based, non credit) in subjects such as financial planning, theater arts, home décor, language arts, real estate and more. Computer courses designed specifically for students aged 50+ are also offered.
Student Services- Students can register for classes, pay for their classes, and take English or Math assessment tests all in one place at the Summerlin Center. Special needs services are also available.

Le Cordon Bleu, the world’s premier culinary arts institute with Parisian roots dating back to 1895, is now open in Summerlin. Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Las Vega is located at the Center Crossing Road in the Crossing Business Center.
The new classrooms, production and instructional kitchens with multi-media capabilities, library and administrative office were complete in January and more students are currently enrolled in various classes that are scheduled to begin throughout the year. The school will also begin offering community classes in the evenings and on the weekends beginnings this fall according to the Director of Education.
A 10,000-square-foot public, fine dining restaurant with seating for 125 and two demonstration kitchen, is scheduled to open in spring 2004.
Few institutions of any kind posses the prestigious reputation of Le Cordon Bleu. This internationally renowned school for the culinary arts has become synonymous with expertise, innovation, tradition refinement – qualities painstakingly natured by the school.
The college is operated by Career Education Corporation (CEC) world’s largest provider of culinary education. CEC maintains an exclusive partnership with Le Cordon Blue throughout North America. This educational partnership gives Le Cordon Bleu College student the finest in North American and European culinary art training available today.
Graduates of this exclusive and intensive 15-month program receiving hands on training that combines classic French techniques with cutting-edge American technology. Students will be required to make over 450 specific culinary proficiencies.
In addition to daily training from distinguished chef instructors, students will receive hands-on training from chef instructors from Le Cordon Bleu’s international schools. Graduates receive the coveted Le Cordon Bleu Diplome in addition to earning the College’s Associates of Occupation Science Degree in Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts.
The college’s restaurant will open in spring 2004 when the first graduating class has finished the curriculum. According to Jennifer White, president of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Las Vegas, “Contrary to most dining experiences, a table next to the kitchen will be the most desirable in the restaurant, Restaurant patrons will be able to watch the goings-on of the kitchen, adding an element of entertainment and excitement to the dining experience at La Cordon Bleu.
